This album shows the interior of what I believe to be the choir of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church In 2006 when Newry & Mourne and English Heritage began to try and transform this very ancient Cistercian building into a British Bagenal Castle that was supposedly built some time with in a 200 year period ? no dates or names of the builders are availiable. no plans other than those of monastic making have been found. If such a Castle was erected it would appear in some shape or form on every map of Ireland that was printed since the 16th cent. The reality is it appears on none, nor does it appear on the ordinance survey maps. Not one piece of genuine documented history & or even one letter to anyone with the Bagenal name has been brought forward as evidence that such a Bagenal Castle address ever existed.
